Spotlight Sunday #10 Rimmel Wake Me Up Foundation

Hey lovelies
I finished my Rimmel Wake Me Up foundation. I really enjoyed the foundation. It has slight shimmer/ glitter particles. Which aren't very noticeable on your face but I would put the foundation on the back of my hand before I used a brush. The foundation on my hands when in the light would sparkle, like Edward Cullen lol.

I would say that this is a light to medium foundation. It would cover my pimples pretty well but I would still need concealer on blemishes and on those annoying dark circles. However I really enjoyed the look of skin when wearing this foundation. I think the shimmer does make your face glow slightly which is a nice effect when you are feeling blah.

I would highly recommend it and I plan on repurchasing this product also.

Sample Queen #2 - Suigo Vital Nutrition Intensive Hair Repair Treatment

The sample featuring in today's post is the Suigo Vital Nutrition Intensive Hair Repair Treatment. I got this products a few months ago in a box and used it twice since then.

The hair mask is meant to be left in shampooed hair for 20 to 30 minutes. It would be good for people who do masks while bathing, which was me last year but this year I only have a shower (i swear when I move I better have a bath). It feels great while in the hair and I could easily brush out my knots which is something I need when washing my hair! I got complements the day after I used this and was asked if I had straightened my hair. I think this product works really well for products and I will buy it in a full size version not for an every week mask but for one when my hair needs extra care or when it has been extra messy.

Shaving Cream Vs Body Moisturiser

This year I recently tried shaving cream for the first time ever. At 21 I had never tried shaving cream it wasn't until I moved out and started living with my friend Jess that I had tried it. Sorry Jess I may have used your shaving cream haha. It was tempting to try since it was sitting in my shower. Now on less of a rant. So since I was so new to what I am sure everyone uses I thought I would share my experience.

Shaving cream
Pros
-it's easier to see where you have already shaved and where you still need to shave
-It's more fun. Can you tell I am new too it?
-comes in many scents

Cons
-Expensive
-Can gets rusty

Moisturisers
Pros
-Cheap, very cheap
-Skin feels amazing afterwards
-Many varities

Cons
-Not as easy to see where you have already shaved
-If to get scented versions it can be expensive

Honestly I will continue to use moisturiser as I love the feeling afterwards and i think it leaves legs Feeling than they do with shaving cream. I think it is the best and it is so cheap and easy. I use the Redwin one sorbelene one but you can get home brand verso d for even cheaper. It cost a few dollars for a big litre with pump container.

What do you use?

New Products September 2013 #3 Little Target Haul

My birthday money was burning a hole in my pocket and since my boyfriend was dying to get the new grand theft auto game I headed to target for the midnight release. Was this a good idea? Hello no. One  no night time snuggles he pulled an all nighter to play and two at 12 am it is really hard for me to say no to anything. To be fair though nearly everything was on sale. Only downside the cashier charged me twice for one if the items! It was a $3.00 item but whatever!

The first item I got was a 75g tub of Lucas Papaw Ointment because it was half price at $11.50. I love this product, I'm almost finished mine and I have no idea where mine is currently. So snatching it up at such a low price makes sense. Post on this product here.

Next came the Australis Fresh & Flawless Pressed Powder in Natural. This is a cult product I'm Australia and one I was not sure whether I would repurchase. However it was on sale for $4.00 which is extremely hard to say no too! I think I will keep it hidden away until summer as it is slightly too dark for my skin and can look a little orange. Although I have bought this product at least 3 times in the past 12 months so I do actually love it, just not so much for my pale winter skin!

Essence Nail Art Express Dry Drops this is a product I have been dying to try for a while now I have bought it for other people and heard only good things about it. For only $3.50 I am not sure what took me so long to buy it! I am looking forward to seeing if this does really help nail polish drying time as it will be an excuse to do my nails more often.

Soon after was the Essence Lash Mania ultra volume mascara. This one at the bargain price of $1.00. Okay I am slightly worried as to why it was so cheap but I am sure this will be a decent everyday mascara for work or just times when I am wearing glasses and don't need lots of length.

Another Essence Product the Home Sweet Home collection eyeshadow in 01 h
Happy Couching. This is a nice deep brown colour which I thought would be a nice crease colour not too shimmery and not too matte. I just think Essence is such great value for the amazing quality. I paid $3.50 and I am pretty happy with that.

Surprise Essence again another bargain product for only $3.00 the eyeshadow Quattro in 07 Over The Taupe. Which is a really pretty and simple neutral quad which would be nice for when I travel later in the year. It will also just be nice in general as I am fan of the neutral, as I like a bold lip.

The final Essence product is from the Sun Club Collection the nail polish in 01 BBC Pink Heat. Which came to the amazing price of $1. It is a stunning bold colour which will look amazing this spring and summer. Let's be real I will wear it in the winter too.

What did you spend your birthday money on this year?
Get any bargains?

September Bellabox 2013

I just got my September Bellabox! Yay! So I wanted to share it with you all.

This month's box was partnered with Cleo and was focused around spring party essentials. Basically sping racing, which fingers crossed that I will be going this year!

The first item is the October issue of Cleo. I was so shocked and happy to get this. I was so glad that I didn't buy this the day before like I planned. Not much to say about this item but I will be reading all of it.

Montagne jeunesse blemish mud masque:
This was one of their essential items it is retailed for $3.99. I loved face masks, while writing this posts I currently haven't a face on my mask. This is a blemish one which isn't what I am looking for at the moment. However I will try it or maybe I will make my housemate use it (she will be featuring in a blog series soon!). Overall I am happy getting his product.

Elegant touch envy wraps:
This is the colour item and it is retailed as $8.99. I am excited about this item as I still haven't used this style of nails, even though I have a few waiting for me. I am not a fan of the actual colours however I think it will be amazing to use on a younger cousin. So overall I am happy getting this.

Schick hydro silk razor:
This is the award winner and is retailed for $9.99. I have never used this brand but I am looking forward to use this. I currently use Venus one so once that is finished I will use this one, or I will wait until I move later in the year. It's a razor not too much to say about it other then I will be using it. Overall I am very impressed with getting this item as it is one that won't be lost in my samples draw.

Manicare glam Kelly lashes:
This is a trick item and retails for 11.95. I am pretty bad with false lashes but I have tried this brand before. I really do like this brand and trust that they will be a great quality. I will use these soon so that is exacting. Overall I am really happy with this item as this is a beauty product I don't have much of so it can't get lost in my collection.

Footcare gel ball of foot cushions:
This is an essential item and is priced at $8.99 for 2 pairs. This is a create product to receive as I do love to wear heels and this will make them have a chance to feel better. Overall I am really happy with this item as I was looking to buy this the other week, I will use it.

Garnier amber solaire natural bronzer spray:
This is a cult item along with the Priceline pick and retails for 14.95. I am new to tanning myself, getting it done for myself is just so much easier. I am excited to try this as it in the shade light and all of ,one are in deep bronze cheer. Over all I am happy to have this item and plan to try this out to perfect tanning.

ASAP pure mineral eye pencil:
This is a colour items and retails for $20.00. This is a brown eyeliner and I excited to have this as I don't currently have a brown eyeliner. This is a item that will look good as a subtle liner for every day wear. Overall I am happy with this product and thing it will be useful.

I am really happy with the whole box. I think it was amazing value. So excited to use all of and tell you my thoughts!

Beauty Goal

For the rest of the year I have a pretty simple beauty goal. To use sunscreen everyday I am going outside. I do wear foundation with SPF however I find myself not wearing make up more often then not. My day time moisturiser is currently inconsistent so putting on a sunscreen daily will make sure my skin stays undamgaed from the sun and looking more youthful. As it is a well known fact that sun damage ages skin, since I am now 22 I am wanting to become more caring and kind to my skin. There is no better time to prevent wrinkles and skin damage than before it starts.

Will you join me?

Sample Queen #1 - Australian Bush Flower Essence Body Love DailyEssence Moisturiser

I wrote this and everything deleted sorry. Silly iPad. So if you want to know more leave in it the comment as I may forget something when I retype this.

Australian Bush Flower Essence Body Love Daily Essence Moisturiser. It is an Australian made and organic. The scent is one of Australian brush flowers. Purchase here, It's $19.95 for 50 ml. It can be used as a face, body or hand moisturiser.

I found the scent amazing, you just think you are going brush walking. I think I would repurchase this moisturiser just for the scent alone. I used this one my body as I feel like it there is too much fragrance for my sensitive face. It soaked into the skin at a reasonable rate and I didn't feel too sticky. I didn't take notice of whether the scent was still there as I forgot so I am not sure if it was because the scent faded or if the I just simply got used to the scent.

In all honesty I would not repurchase this product if I can only get it online. If I saw it at Priceline, Target or another easy place to get skincare I think I would repurchase it for the smell. I think there is a shipping fee on the website and I don't know enough products from the brand to make it worth it.

How To Beat Dry Lips

I have said it a million times, I know, but my current medication dries out my skin and leaves my lips chapped. So this year I have been interested in finding products that actually work at hydrating chapped lips. I have found a few that I adore and couldn't live without.

LUCAS PAPAW OINTMENT
If you're Australian or been reading my blog a while this should be no shock to you. It is my number one lip treatment and honest if I could only have one beauty product for the rest of my life this would be the one, it's love guys. This transforms your lips overnight so it is s must for next to your bed. It is also multipurpose so just an amazing product in general.

FIRST AID BEAUTY ULTRA REPAIR LIP THERAPY
On the more expensive side of things but an awesome product. I got mine from feelunique on sale where you had to buy something from First Aid Beauty. I have it in purple and blue but I can't tell the difference between the two. They smell like sweet mint.

DERMAL THERAPY LIP BALM
This product is amazing! I got it from the chemist in a little pack when I first went on my current skin medication. So it is highly recommend and world amazingly. I it has a strange smell and taste, it's not bad though and feels slightly medical. It also can leave my lips feeling slightly plumped which I don?t have a option about. This product can seriously make my gross chap lips feel normal by the ned of the day. It is pretty cheap also which is bonus along with being Australian made.

Lips scrubs are also helpful but more on that another time.

Flashback Friday #4

These pictures were taken back in the day when I had short hair. This was one of the first times I used liquid eye liner! I remember being so proud! The picture quality is pretty crap as it was taken on my old Nokia.

I do like the pictures still but I look like a ghost in them. It is a combination between flash and no blush! which I still do not understand how I never used it since I am so in love with it now. The flash doesn't go to close to my face. It washes out my face and it looks gross!

This one is a short post this week. But I want to share my make up fails and my not so embarrassing make up looks.

Makeup Wipe Monday #6 Biore- Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes

You might have guessed by the title but this Make up Wipe Monday post is featuring the Biore- Daily Deep Pore Cleansing Wipes. I really like this brand and had already tried the sample size packs before. However if you use the sample size packs and they are in green packaging they are over a year old. They came out with new packaging last year so please keep that in mind if you by the wipes in the green packaging they are older than the white packaging.

These wipes are the cleansing ones from the brand so they are a more harsh feeling. They are made to cleanse the skin not just remove make up. I don't believe they are the best for removing the make up. The brand has another wipes which is more focused on removing make up.

The wipes themselves have bumps on them which I am a fan of. I think that if you are going to be too lazy to cleanse your skin before you to go to sleep this would be an option that you can consider.

They are chemical smelling wipes which I am not a fan of. I have been trying to use more organic products and a product that just reminds me of chemicals is something that I want on face!

Skin update September 2013

So Tuesday I met with my dermatologist. I am currently really happy with my skin. I have no fresh break outs only old scaring still. It is easily covered with foundation. I haven't even been using concealer lately. I am so shocked how different my skin now looks compared to old pictures of me.

I have a tutorial that I filmed a few months ago that I never finished editing. My skin has so many bumps on it in the footage. Even with my foundation and concealer the skin looks gross as you can see heaps of bumps on my forehead. I am a bit up in the air as to whether finish editing that video and upload it. Let me know what you think.

Back on to seeing my dermatologist what he said was that I only need stay on the medication for another two months. Which I am so excited about. Since the pimples are gone I am now just working on getting rid of the redness and scaring. Two months will be amazing to be off the treatment and I will post about it  and film a video.

I also asked my dermatologist about the Clarisonic as I have been dying to get one. Pretty much I got told me to not get one. He said pretty much if you wouldn't put it on your privates that you shouldn't put it on your face. He did see that I had a need for it either. So I am really unsure on whether I will get it once I finish my treatment.

Sample Queen!

I have so many samples at the moment. So I am going to start using a sample a week at least and post a mini review on my blog. It will free up a lot of room in my storage and I will hopefully find new products I love. I will not be able to tell you where each sample has come from as it is difficult to remember but most likely it is from a sample box.

I am thinking of posting these on a Wednesday as that is a day where there is a gap in my blog. I will still have posts that are not in a series of course! Just I enjoy series on here as it helps me keep focused on what to blog about and when.

Also on a little house keeping note I finally changed the time on my blog so now if I schedule it will be on Australian Melbourne (Sydney's too) time. I have no idea why it took me so long.

False Lashes

Last week at Melbourne Central they were having fashion week events. I went down as shopping and free things are of my favourite things. Mecca was running an event where you could get false lashes put on, try a lip stick or get a statement nail done. I choose false lashes as you may have guessed from the title. I made the choice as my lips were chapped (what's new, stupid medication!) and my nails really need some pampering before I let anyone look at them.

Anyway back on topic. I lined up in a huge queue and waited my turn. The their were 4 choices of lashes all from the brand Kit. The lashes themselves cost $17.95 and I got them for free. I choice the volume lashes as they still natural looking and just make your lashes look fuller. I really enjoyed wearing apart from the first few minutes where you are still trying to adjust.

I'm not actually one to wear false lashes I've only worn them to cheer comps. However I would like to wear them more as they are fun. Next party I plan to be rocking some :)

Please keep in mind I was wearing no makeup just false lashes.

Mecca also had if you buy something in store you got a deluxe sample of the YSL shocking mascara. I got a mini Soap and Glory product. (Will blog about it soon I promise!)

Makeup Wipe Monday #5

Hey all
This week's Makeup Wipe Monday is focusing  on the Savvy by DB makeup removing wipes with Vitamin E. I got these wipes in my Priceline beauty bag for free and they were ones that I wouldn't have rushed out to try myself. The wipes weren't bad at all. The wipes itself wasn't smooth and had the bumps on them that I like. The material however was pretty thin. It was an average wetness and I feel if it was open for too long it would dry out quicker than other brands. The price is pretty good though which is a bonus with it only being $4.99 and the brand on sale often. Would I repurchase these wipes not likely as I prefer other ones and I still have plenty more to try. Saying that they are not a bad wipe.

(My ratty used up packet!)

Flashback Friday #3

Hi Lovelies
It's Friday yay! If only I wasn't a poor uni student who spent her weekends working, sigh. To celebrate that it is Friday were are going back to 2009 with my amazing friend Brodie again. We liked to dress up and take lots of photos okay. As you will learn we were not camera shy at all, we even have an old joint YouTube channel which one day I may let you watch for flashback sakes or maybe not as you may think I am INSANE!

Teasing our hair was lots of fun to be honest on the night and then torture the next day! Why did we do it? Well I was under the impression we were so high end. It was inspired by magazines like Russh which I adored at the time, I swear I had so much money back then! It could have also been slightly inspired from our school product that we had been in, Brodie was one of the stars! The production was set in an era similar to Sweeny Todd.

The top picture not my favourite I look very dead in my opinion however the other two I still like. I really like the big bow on the side of my hair. It maybe just before it looks so in place with the massive hair. The second picture is really not about the make up as it such bad quality you can barely see our faces!

The bottom picture I appear to have blush on! Yay!! Not as much as an embarrassing photo. Since I don't think the make up is too horrible. However really not my style at all now. I think Brodie looks stunning in them like usual she was born a pro in my option, lucky thing.

I love the white eye shadow in the corner of the eyes that Brodie and I have. I think it still looks good and sometimes use it now. However I don't do it that often these days as I don't have a white eye shadow I like as much as I liked one then. Any recommendations? I would love to know if you have found a perfect one!

I am hoping that their is not too many more pictures where I look emo but who knows apparently I had a phase even though I was in love with bright coloured clothes during that time!

Any pictures that you have that you don't know what you were thinking?

I plan to review these some time soon when I use these.

I have been using the Clinque for about a month now. The cleanser I have only be using for around a week now. These are two luxury products that will cost a lot of money to re-purchase if I choose to. I will keep you in the loop about them.

Makeup Wipe Monday #4

Oh Hai
Today's Makeup Wipe Monday is on the Coles 4 in 1 Cleansing Wipes. These are only $2.50 for 25 at Coles which is a steal and a price I am more than willing to pay on wipes. I bought these on impulsive during one of many shops at Coles, since I had already started this series I figured I would give them ago. I can now say that these are my favourite Cheap Makeup Wipes, by this I mean lower than $3.00 (or budget wipes if you will). I think they are great quality for the price and I have already repurchased them. They are a plain smooth wipe, very wet and reasonably thick. They do a pretty good job at taking off your makeup with just using the one wipe. Along with not having a noticeable fragrance the wipes don't irritate my skin or leave it red at all. So if you want some cheap makeup wipes that work well I would seriously recommend the Coles 4 in 1 Cleansing Wipes.
